Cosmos Communications, Inc., founded in 1996, is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida. Cosmos Communications has managed projects from initial systems design through installation and customer acceptance for major telecommunications industry leaders like Sprint, AT&T, Frontier, TTC, Ciena, Lucent, and NEC America.
Our experience goes back 18 years to the Step switch. We have installed and tested Channel Banks, D4 carrier, DMS-1, DMS-10, DACS-1 and DACS-3 to Fiber Mux's asynchronous to Sonet, and OC-3 to OC-192. Experience installing, testing and engineering OC-48 ring systems, our trained staff have also interfaced with Ciena 16, 32, 40, WDM, Corestream (10G) and Coredirector products. Cosmos Communications played an instrumental role in installation and testing of new products being evaluated and certified by AT&T for deployment throughout AT&T's network. After certification process was complete, Cosmos was responsible for engineering and installation of the First Field Application (Tampa to Orlando) and First Office Application (Kansas City to St. Louis) of NEC's 2400A, Spectrawave WDM 32, 64, 160, OC-192, and TTC's Remote Access Testing Equipment to AT&T in Florida. Cosmos helped NEC to successfully complete a coast-to-coast deployment of NEC OC-192 equipment.
